Diablo III Beta

This weekend there is a change to try Diablo III before the game is officially launched. The name Beta seems to be correct in this case. I have had troubles getting into the game.

First I downloaded the game client from Diablo III internet page and started the install.

After the game was downloaded I launched the game and when I tried to login to Battle.net I got following error message:
The servers  are busy at this time. Please try again later. (Error 37)

After trying to log about 10 times I gave up and tried to use the Europe server. This seemed to be bad idea because I got error message that  said: Unable to connect to the service or the connection was interrupted. (Error 3003)

After that I tried to login again to US server without success. I will keep trying and update what happens.

Beta is available here: Diablo III open Beta

Edit:

I was able to join after about 15 join attempts. It seems that the servers are busy at the moment. I have mixed feelings about the game. The game play was little confusing at the beginning. The graphics are more candy like compared to Diablo II and it's sometimes hard to see what is happening because of the effects.

I think I will try to play the beta a little more if I have time. The game was good enough and I most likely will buy the retail version for myself.

The Expendables 2

Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jason Statham. How does it feel to see those names together? Well, that is the plot of coming movie The Expendables 2. There will be some other plot but lets face it, this will be an action movie on steroids! I didn't mean that literally (or maybe I did). Anyway, there will be a lot of action, shooting and one-liners. What else do you need from a good action movie?

Ok, here is the real plot for the movie:
Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.

The Expendables 2 will be in theaters on August 17, 2012. You can see the trailers from: http://theexpendables2film.com/

Prometheus coming on June 8, 2012

There is a new movie called Prometheus coming from Ridley Scott the director of Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator. The release date is expected to be June 8, 2012.

In the late 21st century, a star map is discovered within the imagery of Aztec, Mesopotamian and Magdalenian cultures. The plot follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus in the year 2085, as they explore an advanced alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity. Exploring the advanced civilization of an extraterrestrial race, they soon face a threat to humanity's very existence.

Here is a link to a trailer on YouTube. I am really waiting for this movie. Sci-Fi is one of my favorite movie genres and the plot seems promising. Scott has also directed impressive movies before. Lets see what the movie will be like.

Nokia Lumia 900 - $100 rebate

I wrote earlier about Nokia Lumia 900 launch in the US.

Nokia is now offering $100 rebate because they identified a software issue with Lumia 900 memory management. In short, a memory management issue was discovered that could, in some cases, lead to loss of data connectivity. IThey say that the issue is purely in the phone software, and is not related to either phone hardware or the network itself. They have identified the issue, and have developed a solution.

They are offering following options if you have already purchased a Lumia 900:

• Update your device with the latest software via Zune on or around Monday, April 16th.
or
• Swap your current Lumia 900 for an updated Lumia 900

They apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. As a gesture of good will, every individual who has already purchased a Nokia Lumia 900 — or who will purchase one between now and April 21stwill receive a $100 credit to their AT&T bill from Nokia.

Nokia Lumia 900 starts to sound a good deal for consumer who wants a smart phone.

Listen free music online

There are free and legal ways to listen music online. Here are the ways I have tried and found useful:

Grooveshark - listen music on a browser. No sign-up required. Best option if you don't want to pay. There are adverts visible on the internet page. My current favorite.

Spotify - listen music using downloadable client. Sign-up required. Free version has adverts and you can only listen 10 hours per month (I think this does not affect new accounts). Spotify is currently available in following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Last.fm - Sign-up required. Free in UK, US, and Germany. People in other countries can listen 50 tracks free using Last.fm Radio.

Grooveshark is my favorite option of these three. It's free and there are no (at least yet) advertisements between tracks. By creating a free account you can save your own playlist. For the moment I have to say am very pleased with Grooveshark.

I have also used free (with adds) and unlimited (9,99€ / month) version of Spotify. Spotify Unlimited worked well and there were lot of tracks available. With Spotify Unlimited there is also option to install the client on your mobile phone (iPhone, Android, Symbian, Windows Phone, Palm and BlackBerry). The mobile version is useful if you want to listen music when you are away from your computer. It's also possible to use offline mode and listen music even when you are not online.

I might return to Spotify if Grooveshark service starts to get worse or if I need the features that Spotify Unlimited offers. If you want to pay and get best features I think the Spotify is the best option for you.

Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia announced Lumia 900 model to US markets on Sunday. This is an important launch for Nokia. They are really trying to get in to US markets that they lost many years ago.

The phone has received varying reviews. It it's inexpensive for a smart phone with those specifications. Windows Phone is a new to many people and they are not maybe yet sure if it's for them. Anyway the general feel for the phone has been positive. For example Gizmodo conclusion for the phone was: "Should I Buy It? Probably—it's only $100" and "The Lumia 900 is a phone that every single person should consider owning."

You can buy factory locked black version from Amazon. They also offer AT&T versions (black, cyan).

Lumia 900 specifications:
- 1.4 GHz processor, 4G LTE, Internet Explorer 9, HTML5, Wi-Fi
- 4.3" AMOLED ClearBlack glass touchscreen, one-piece polycarbonate body
- Carl Zeiss optics, 8 MP main camera, dual LED flash, Auto Focus, 1 MP front camera, video calling

The best R-rated comedies

I am a sucker for R-rated comedies. For some (most?) of the people these are probably too childlish but fortunately it seems that my mental age is just correct for the comedies. ;) Most of the comedies in the list are teen comedies. In the list are some of my favorites (there are probably some movies that I have seen and liked but forgot to add them to this list). Links are to amazon.com:

Knocked Up - They say that opposites attract. Well, for slacker Ben and career girl Alison , that's certainly the case - at least for one intoxicated evening. Two months and several pregnancy tests later, Ben and Alison go through a hysterically funny, anxious and heartwarming journey that leads to huge laughs in the most outrageous comedy of the year!

Wedding Crashers - In this hilarious box office hit, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson have perfected the art of wedding crashing but when one of them actually falls in love their sacred rule, "never leave a fellow crasher behind," may be broken!

Superbad - Seth and Evan want nothing more than to lose their virginity before they head off to college. To do that, though, they need to get liquor for the big party that night. With the help of their friend Fogell, a.k.a. McLovin, and his fake I.D., the three of them go on a hilarious chase for that elusive booze, dodging incompetent cops, angry neighbors and jealous boyfriends.

The Hangover - They planned a Vegas bachelor party that they would never forget. Now they really need to remember what exactly went down! What the guys did while partying can't compare to what they must do sober in an outrageous caper that has them piecing together all their bad decisions from the night before-- one hazy clue at a time.

The Hangover Part II - Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug travel to exotic Thailand for Stu's wedding. What could go wrong? Director Todd Phillips' explosively funny follow-up to his award-winning smash hit demonstrates that though what happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, what happens in Bangkok can hardly be imagined!

Old School - Eager to relive their college glory days, aging misfits Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell decide to turn their on-campus digs into a makeshift fraternity. The trio is soon hosting the hottest parties around, but when crusty dean Jeremy Piven threatens to put an end to the fun, the guys must choose between debauchery and maturity.

I Love You, Man - The story is pretty simple – making friends tends to get more and more challenging as we get older and more settled into our lives. That’s never been truer than for Peter Klaven, a so-called “Girlfriend Guy” who’s never really had a best guy friend.

Role Models - Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott star in this comic romp about two energy drink salesmen who wind up on the wrong side of the law. To stay out of jail, they agree to act as mentors to a pair of troubled kids. But setting an example for the younger generation may prove to be even tougher than prison.

She's Out of My League - In this outrageous comedy, Kirk, an average guy, can’t believe his luck when the successful and gorgeous babe Molly falls for him. His smart-ass friends, his crazy family, and even his obnoxious ex-girlfriend are just as shocked as he is.

Beerfest - After a humiliating false start in Germany's super-secret underground beer competition, America's unlikely team vows to risk life, limb and liver to dominate the ultimate chug-a-lug championship. The laughs are on the haus!

Adventureland - When James Brennan has to cancel his dream summer vacation and make some money for grad school, the only job he can get is at Adventureland, a tacky amusement park where the games are rigged and the rides make you hurl. But it's where he meets Em and his roller coaster ride to nowhere turns into the best summer ever.

The Girl Next Door - Raunchy teen sex comedy with a heart about a buttoned-down high school student (Emile Hirsch) who's driven to distraction by his new neighbor (Elisha Cuthbert), a nubile young woman who used to be a successful adult film star. As the unlikely pair begin to fall for each other, Hirsch finds his attempts to keep Cuthbert out of the industry marred by a pair of sleazy and determined porn producers.

Kick-Ass - “How come nobody’s ever tried to be a superhero?” When Dave Lizewski – ordinary New York teenager and rabid comic-book geek – dons a green-and-yellow Internet-bought wetsuit to become the no-nonsense vigilante Kick-Ass, he soon finds an answer to his own question: because it hurts.

Due Date - Due Date is such a broad comedy, it needs the width of the whole United States in which to play out. Downey is Peter, a straitlaced new father-to-be, who through an improbable series of unfortunate events can find no other way to get across the country for the birth of his first child than to hitch a ride with Ethan.

Zombieland - Nerdy college student Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has survived the plague that has turned mankind into flesh-devouring zombies because he’s scared of just about everything. Gun-toting, Twinkie-loving Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) has no fears. Together, they are about to stare down their most horrifying challenge yet: each other’s company. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin co-star in this double-hitting, head-smashing comedy.

Sex Drive - Itching to gain his first sexual experience, awkward 18-year-old Ian (Josh Zuckerman) jumps at a "sure thing" when an online partner offers to fulfill his fantasies. Ian steals his brother's car and takes to the road to meet her, with a portly pal (who's an unlikely chick magnet) and a platonic girlfriend in tow for a series of lewd misadventures.

I also like other movie genres but sometimes a wacky comedy can be the best thing. I think these comedies are perfect way to unwind. Just watch the movie and forget everything else for about one and half hours.

What are your favorite comedies or do you think that most comedies are not funny? I know that bad comedies can be one of the worst movie experience. That is why I listed these movies to give you an easy way to pick a good comedy. If you know a good R-rated comedy that is not listed here feel free to recommend it. There are never too many good comedies.

GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City - multiplayer

GTA IV is not the newest game but the multiplayer for the extension The Ballad of Gay Tony is still active.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition is available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. This version has the original GTA IV and the add-ons The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

The multiplayer mode that I like to play is the free mode. You can do what ever you want on this mode as the name indicates. Race with your friends, do some role playing, try to run from the cops or just drive around the city.

A fair warning about cheaters is in place. Too many people who play the game are using some sort of hacks or trainers. That can take the fun out of the game. Best option is to gather a bunch of your friends and make your own server. To play the game online you need to use the in-game mobile phone that the player has. On a PC you will need to press "arrow up" to get the phone available. From the list you will need to select multiplayer.

This is a good way to get in to the game while waiting for GTA V if you have not played GTA's before. The game itself is good and you will have good time while playing the story mode. The age limit in most countries is 18 for this game. The limit is there for a reason.

Game of Thrones

HBO is showing television series called Game of Thrones. This series is based on a series of novel written by George R.R. Martin. The series is called A Song of Ice and Fire and it consist of following books (links are to Amazon.com):

A Game of Thrones (Released 1996)
A Clash of Kings (Released 1999
A Storm of Swords (Released 2000)
A Feast for Crows (Released 2005)
A Dance with Dragons (Released 2011)
The Winds of Winter (Forthcoming)
A Dream of Spring (Forthcoming)

The first season was based on the book A Game of Thrones. The second series will be based on the second book called the A Clash of Kings.

The name of the TV-series comes from the first books name. When I started to watch the series and wanted to buy the books it was little confusing at the beginning to find the correct books. Now you know when you are looking for the books look them by the name of the book or the name of the series of novels (A Song of Ice and Fire). For example Amazon.com sell the books for a competitive price. If you prefer you can get the 5 first books from Amazon.co.uk. If you prefer the kindle edition you can get it from here: link.

I am currently reading book number 4 (A Feast for Crows). I can say these are the best fantasy novel that I have read so far. Some may say that if a movie or TV-series is made from a book it will always be worse than the book. In this case both the book and TV-series are excellent.
Daenerys Targaryen

Watching the TV-series is still interesting after reading the books. Some of the character look different than I expected them to be (in season 2). I watched the season 1 first and got read the book later. For that reason the characters from the TV-series look "correct" in season 1. I read the book before starting to watch season 2. There a new character in season 2 and some of them don't match what I expected them to look like. For example Stannis Baratheon looks different than I visioned in my head.

Play free games on a web browser

If you have free time and nothing to do try some of these free browser games. Here are couple of good games to get you started:

Fantastic Contraption 2 - Genre: Puzzle game. If you build it…will it run?

Kingdom Rush - Genre: Tower defense. The kingdom is under attack! Defend your realm against hordes of orcs, trolls, evil wizards and other nasty fiends; armed with a mighty arsenal of warriors and mages of your own!

GemCraft Labyrinth - Genre: Tower defense. The twist is that using different gems you can change the behavior of the tower. If you like the tower defense games I recommend that you try this.

Infectonator 2 - Turn the population to zombies, and dominate the World! Warning: This is not a game for the faint hearted!

Multitask 2 - Test how good you are at multitasking. This game gets progressively harder.

I have spend some times with these except with  Kingdom Rush. I just started to play the game but it seemed promising enough so I added it to the list. I have finished  Infectonator 2  (destroyed every city). Usually the goal is to save the city or world by killing zombies. In this case the roles are different. The goal is to destroy the cities.

The most time I have spent with  Fantastic Contraption 2. There are many ways to complete a level. It's not always about the easiest way to clear the level. Sometimes it's fun to see if you can complete level using your own quirky solution.

What is Ceentas

Ceentas is a blog about games, movies, gadgets and entertainment. I will write about upcoming games, movies and TV-series. The post vary depending what is going in the genre and what are the interest of the readers and the blogger.

New season of Game of Thrones is now on. The second episode was just released. Now is a good time to check the first season if you have missed the show.

MythBusters is also back with Adam and Jamie testing new myths with the help of the second team (Kari, Grant and Tory). To get your MythBusters fix go to Discovery internet page to see the after show.

The will be a post about Diablo III and GTV V. Those are the games I am currently waiting the most. GTA IV was released first for consoles so I will probably need to wait for the PC version. Or I might buy it for my PS3. For Diablo III I need to train my clicking speed to be ready to hack and slash. :) Ok, enough talk for now, I will see you later..

P.S. Diablo III will be released on 15th of May if you are wondering.
