GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City - multiplayer

GTA IV is not the newest game but the multiplayer for the extension The Ballad of Gay Tony is still active.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition is available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. This version has the original GTA IV and the add-ons The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

The multiplayer mode that I like to play is the free mode. You can do what ever you want on this mode as the name indicates. Race with your friends, do some role playing, try to run from the cops or just drive around the city.

A fair warning about cheaters is in place. Too many people who play the game are using some sort of hacks or trainers. That can take the fun out of the game. Best option is to gather a bunch of your friends and make your own server. To play the game online you need to use the in-game mobile phone that the player has. On a PC you will need to press "arrow up" to get the phone available. From the list you will need to select multiplayer.

This is a good way to get in to the game while waiting for GTA V if you have not played GTA's before. The game itself is good and you will have good time while playing the story mode. The age limit in most countries is 18 for this game. The limit is there for a reason.
